Chaitali Sengupta, PhD

Chaitali Sengupta is a co-founder at Cirrus360, a startup focused on Intent based 5G RAN Automation. Earlier, she was the architect of an edge computing platform, EdgeSense™ which won a DoE SBIR award in 2019. Prior to this, she was Senior Director Technology at Qualcomm where she drove an edge computing strategy. In 2014-16, she was Vice President, Product Development and Engineering at Reliance Jio Infocomm, India, and Member of Board of Directors at Reliance Jio Messaging Services Pvt. Ltd. At Reliance Jio, she launched the first product under the fast growing “4G Jio” brand in India – with an application platform for social media, short content, and brand engagement, closely aligned with the Jio network and product eco-system. Before Reliance Jio, she was CTO and SVP engineering at SEVEN Networks, California, specializing in device based mobile traffic and signaling management. She joined SEVEN as part of its acquisition of SNRLabs, Texas, a mobile connectivity product start-up where she was a co-founder and CTO. Prior to that, she was at Texas Instruments as Distinguished Member, Technical Staff. Chaitali is a winner of MIT Technology Review magazine’s 2004 top innovators under 35 award and 2007 Outstanding Young Engineering Alumni award of Rice University. She has a PhD and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Rice University, and a B.Tech. from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. She is the author of 13 patent families (68 patents) and several book chapters and research papers (refer ORCID).



Alan Gatherer, PhD



Alan is a co-founder at Cirrus360, a startup focused on Intent based 5G RAN Automation. Prior to Cirrus360, Alan was Senior Technical Vice President at Huawei/Futurewei Technologies, USA where he was responsible for R&D efforts to develop next generation baseband chips and software for 4G and 5G base station modems. Prior to that, he was Texas Instruments Fellow and CTO of wireless infrastructure at TI where he conceptualized and led the development of high performance, multicore chipsets for wireless infrastructure — a market that TI dominated for more than 10 years of 3G and early 4G. Alan is the author of 90 awarded patents and 50 widely-cited journal and conference papers — many of which have set the direction for industry wide R&D in wireless system design. Alan has spoken and written about the very problem Cirrus360 is solving: Most recently at DAC 2020: “From Real Time to Cloud Native: The Growing Chasm between the Needs of 5G Networks and the Desire for White-Box Solutions”. Alan is an IEEE Fellow for contributions to systems-on-chip (SoC) for 3G and 4G cellular systems and has been editor-in-chief of IEEE ComSoc Technology News (CTN). Alan holds a bachelor of engineering in microprocessor engineering from Strathclyde University in Scotland. He also attended Stanford University where he received a master’s in electrical engineering in 1989 and his doctorate in electrical engineering in 1993.



Sudipta Sen



Sudipta Sen is a co-founder at Cirrus360, a startup focused on Intent based 5G RAN Automation. Earlier, he was the Principal Investigator on an edge computing platform project, EdgeSense™ which won a DoE SBIR award in 2019. He is an entrepreneur and product / solutions delivery expert, focusing on mobile - edge – server systems. Prior to Cirrus360, he was Senior Director, Platform Operations at Qualcomm. In 2014-16, he was Vice President, Product Development and Engineering at Reliance Jio Infocomm, India, where he led a team that built and launched an India-wide WiFi applications product line under the Reliance “Jio” brand, the fastest growing 4G service worldwide that went from start to 100m users in first 6 months. From 2006-12, Sudipta was CEO and Board Member of SNRLabs, a start-up that he co-founded. SNRLabs provided solutions for cellular and WiFi seamless mobility and connectivity solutions based on measured quality of user experience at the device, and was acquired by SEVEN Networks. Before that, Sudipta was solutions delivery manager at Texas Instruments and a Senior Member Technical Staff at Compaq. Sudipta has been credited for the first sub-$1000 PC and the first Pentium class wearable computer. He has a Masters in electrical engineering from University of Houston and a B. Tech. from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
